It’s your home. And it’s your routine.
Inviting someone to help with personal care is a personal decision. You may have a preferred way of showering, need extra time to get dressed or feel more comfortable with a particular type of worker. We want to know those details.
We can help with a morning routine, a specific task during the day or getting settled in the evening. Before visits begin, we talk through what assistance you need and how you would like the worker to help.
You stay involved in decisions about your care. If a task feels rushed, uncomfortable or no longer right for you, tell us so we can change the approach.

Getting ready for work without starting the day in a rush.
A participant works two mornings a week. They can choose their clothes and prepare breakfast, but need help showering and dressing before their transport arrives.
KIRAYA would work backwards from the departure time to discuss a suitable visit and the tasks to cover.
The worker would follow the participant’s preferred routine and leave the parts they want to do themselves in their hands.
A morning with enough time.
The aim is to get the necessary help without taking over the whole routine, so the participant can leave home ready for the day.

Can I discuss worker preferences?
Yes. You can tell us about communication preferences, cultural needs and what helps you feel comfortable with personal care.
